- Admission into the music degree program as an undergraduate Major or Minor requires acceptance by the School of Music, Theatre and Dance. Register for an audition with the School. You may audition prior to acceptance by the Office of Admissions. If an audition in person is not possible, a recorded performance may be allowed for provisional admission.

Resume and Letters
Please bring a performance resume with you on the day of your audition/interview. You are encouraged to submit two confidential letters of recommendation. Letters should be sent ahead to the following address:
- Undergraduate Admissions
- C/O Tom Krebs
- 1778 Campus Delivery

Audition time is approximately ten minutes. You may select the music to be performed; it is suggested that you perform two pieces or movements in varying styles, rather than one piece. The selections should be representative of your best ability. Our diagnostic testing and interviews with the faculty will take approximately one additional hour.
You will be asked to sight-read and to perform scales.

You are strongly encouraged to attend one of our audition dates. If you cannot, you may submit a DVD video recording to be considered for admission. You must fill out the audition registration form and follow the instructions provided for a DVD audition. Your DVD audition will be used to grant you conditional acceptance - you will have to re-audition for our faculty live when you arrive at CSU in the fall. Only students who give a live audition will be considered for scholarships.
Acceptance letters and notifications of scholarships awarded will occur on an ongoing basis throughout the acceptance process.
