Jazz professor Wil Swindler featured at Jazz Education Network Conference

Wil SwindlerThe head of CSU Jazz Studies, Wil Swindler, and his band, The Elevenet were featured performers at the 2023 Jazz Education Network Conference. The fourteenth annual conference was held on Jan. 4-7 in Orlando, Florida.

According to the organization’s website, the conference offers a variety of events, including sessions and clinics to fit every attendee’s jazz interest. It is an ideal foram to learn more about jazz education, research, technology, the jazz industry and music business, improvisation, composition, panel discussions, and more. (jazzed.net.org)

The Elevenet members also include CSU music faculty members Peter Sommer, saxophone professor and head of the Woodwind area, and Seth Lewis, Jazz Studies instructor.

About the Band

Wil Swindler’s Elevenet is an 11-piece ensemble in the tradition of the Miles Davis nonet performing modern original compositions by saxophonist/composer and Gil Evans Fellowship winner Wil Swindler. This performance will feature new music from on our 2022 album release Space Bugs on OA2 records.
