Biography

Dr. Seth Lewis is an instructor of music in Jazz Studies at Colorado State University where he teaches jazz ensembles, private jazz bass lessons, and jazz history. He has toured with The Glenn Miller Orchestra, played in The Lion King on Broadway, and has recorded more than 20 albums as a leader and a sideman. He is a fixture on the front-range jazz scene and a long-serving faculty member at the Stanford Jazz Workshop. Ron Carter, the most recorded jazz bassist in history describes Seth as "A very dedicated, talented and hard-working bassist. His playing is on an advanced level of the instrument and his potential is limitless. As a person he is honest, kind, idealistic, and forthright in character, yet utterly unpretentious."

Dr. Lewis holds a D.A. from the University of Northern Colorado.
