Dear Band and Orchestra Directors,
I'm thrilled to once again supervise the recordings of the latest Colorado All-State Band and Orchestra audition repertoire by our performance faculty here at Colorado State University. I am thrilled to help bring you the seventh year of these videos! Seen by more than 200,000 people, this series has helped not only Colorado students do their best on their All-State auditions, but has helped musicians all over the world.
It is inspiring to witness the filming of my colleague’s videos. Over and over again, I heard them explain, analyze, and demonstrate difficult etudes and excerpts, while at the same time urging students to put their own artistic interpretation into their performances. I hope these videos help your students in their auditions and in becoming better and more well-rounded musicians.
