Dare to Dabble with Dalcroze Eurhythmics

Swiss music educator Emile Jaques-Dalcroze believed in movement as our “sixth sense.” This workshop introduces participants to Dalcroze Eurhythmics, where, through movement, sound is experienced in an entirely new way. Learn kinesthetic games and activities that teach your students musical concepts such as beat, meter, rhythm, melodic contour, dynamics, articulation, and phrasing. Dalcroze techniques engage young students through perceptive listening, concentration, and musical problem-solving while enabling them to become more musically expressive. The workshop is designed for K-12 music teachers, applied music instructors, anyone who teaches or performs music, and is a sample of content for MU 524 at CSU. Registration required.
