About Maisie Phillips

Maisie Phillips earned a B.M. in Music Education from Colorado State University in 2020, and previously taught in Ault before teaching at Sanborn Elementary School in Longmont Colorado. In college, Maisie's focus was choir; however, she also has experience in orchestra, wind symphony, jazz band, jazz choir, small brass ensembles, chamber choir, musicals, and opera. She toured Italy with the CSU choral area in 2019. Maisie continues to sing and play trumpet, piano, and ukulele. This background helps her provide opportunities for her students to sing, play instruments, create, improvise, arrange, and most importantly, develop an overall enjoyment and love of music. "Music teaches us to be proud of who we are, and ignites imagination and creativity in kids; I am so excited to work with the students at Sanborn," she said. When not teaching, Maisie gardens, cooks, hikes, and plays her instruments, and sings at home.
