International Piano Competition and Concerts Coming This Summer

A one-of-a-kind, international piano competition, the International Keyboard Odyssiad and Festival, in conjunction with the Summer Keyboard Institute, is taking place in Fort Collins July 20 – 24, 2014. The festival and teaching institue provide the public a rare opportunity to hear performances by international professional pianists, alongside final rounds of dynamic competition and concluding with a winners' concert.

The successful festival and the institute are the creation of Colorado State University Coordinator of Keyboard Studies, Dr. Janet Landreth, and are in their third year.

The semi-final rounds of the International Keyboard Odyssiad and Festival (IKOF), with students coming from around the world, take place on Sunday, July 20 at the University Center for the Arts, located at 1400 Remington St. Subsequent rounds are being held at Council Tree Covenant Church, located at 4825 S. Lemay Ave.

Nightly concerts by international piano superstars are a feature of the event, and 2014 has the most outstanding line-up to-date!

  • July 20 - Olga Kern, appearing as a benefit for her Foundation “Aspiration”
  • July 21 - Julia and Irina Elkina, award-winning Russian Piano-Duo
  • July 22 - Valery Kuleshov, Russian silver medalist, Van Cliburn International Piano Competition
  • July 23. - Jung-Woon Shin, 2012 Gold Medalist, International Keyboard Odyssiad
