Announcing Sabra Chavez as CSU Music Therapy Instructor

The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance welcomes Sabra Chavez as instructor of music in the music therapy area at Colorado State University.

2026 Sabra Chavez headshot with tambourine & drumSabra Chavez, MM, MT-BC, is a board-certified music therapist specializing in working with neurodiverse individuals across the lifespan, music therapy private practice, and community partnership development.

Chavez founded Integrated Therapy of Northern Colorado, where she has led a dynamic practice that includes direct clinical work, mentorship of a team of therapists, and the development of innovative, community-based programs.She is also the founder of the All-Abilities Adult Choir, a community music initiative designed to promote inclusion and meaningful participation for individuals of all abilities.

Her professional work is grounded in a passion for program development, community partnership, and advancing accessibility and inclusion. In partnership with CSU’s Dr. Blythe LaGasse, Chavez is currently a recipient of a research grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, supporting research on belonging and community-building through community music groups for neurodiverse individuals.
