Celebrate what you want to see more of.

On April 1, the University Center for the Arts launched The Green Room, a celebration of visual and performing arts at Colorado State University. The publication is a comprehensive showcase for behind-the-scenes event details, student and faculty activities, department news, unique workshop and camp listings, alumni successes, donor relationships, and other items of individual interest, all creatively and responsibly crafted and delivered.

Colorado State University is the first university to achieve a STARS platinum sustainability rating from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, and it was important for the University Center for the Arts (UCA) to select a cost-effective, green, content distribution platform; The Green Room will be hosted on Issuu.com, the fastest growing digital publishing platform in the world.

The UCA is joining many other CSU units in hosting online publications through the free consumer app, including Around the Oval, the Parent Guide, Collegian Coupon Book, Athletic Media Guide, and CSU Graduation Guide; many other excellent Colo. organizations also use Issuu including the Colorado Ballet, City of Denver, Colorado Symphony, and the Governor’s Office.

“The UCA is dedicated to creating a visually appealing publication for our students, faculty, alumni, and donors to share with their family, friends, and colleagues,” said Jennifer Clary, UCA marketing director. “Our hope is that this beautiful magazine will also become a treasured souvenir, archiving our time together at Colorado State University.”

What differentiates The Green Room from the popular, bi-annual UCA Performance and Exhibition Guide is its depth and focus on recent news and upcoming events, rather than the semester-at-a-glance approach. However, look for a digital version of the Performance Guide, and other UCA publications, online as well.

The current issue – along May and Summer – is a soft roll out of the publication, with a fully interactive launch coming in August.

“I want to thank department leaders who have supported the launch of this new story-telling solution, especially Theatre Director Walt Jones,” said Clary. “Additional special recognition goes to Mike Solo, UCA publicity and marketing manager, for taking the lead on researching Issue.com as a platform, and designing the new magazine.
