University Symphony Orchestra Concert: A Dark and Stormy Night…

Maestro Wes Kenney’s final season at CSU opens with Florence Price’s Symphony No. 3, which is the composer’s attempt to assimilate her life’s experience into symphonic music; the piece was commissioned by the Works Progress Administration’s Federal Music Project during the height of the Great Depression. The concert also features Ludwig van Beethoven’s iconic Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67 with its tremendous move from the stormy opening to the brilliant C Major close.

Voice of the CSU Marching Band: Application and Audition Deadline

We’re looking for the new VOICE of the CSU Marching Band! If you (or someone you know) love the band, want to have an important and on-going role with the program, and are an alum with a great announcer voice, then you might be the next “VOICE of the CSUMB.”

The band seeks an individual with the ability to excite crowds and create an iconic game-day experience.  The new “VOICE” will have press box access for all games, will travel free of charge with the CSUMB on away games, bowl games, and other special performances, and spend game day with the band.
