Hapless Heroes

The Concert Orchestra, conducted by Leslie Stewart, presents the stories of two literary characters – Don Quixote and Orpheus – through music. Following the Don Quixote Suite by Georg Philipp Telemann, actors from CSU Theater join the orchestra to present the mythical tale of Orpheus and Eurydice, including musical excerpts from Christoph Willibald Gluck’s opera by the same name.

“Last fall we collaborated with CSU Theatre actors in presenting excerpts from the Purcell opera The Fairy’s Kiss, based on Midsummer Night’s Dream by Shakespeare. This was so fun we have invited them to join us again,” explained Leslie Stewart.
