If you are a viola student or string instructor in the state of Colorado, chances are you’ve worked with CSU viola professor, Margaret Miller. Each year, the long-time senior instructor of music coaches and adjudicates at various conferences, academies, masterclasses, and camps across the Front Range.
Here are some of Ms. Miller's recent appearances:
- Jan. 2022: Colorado Music Educators Association Clinic-Conference and Tri M Sessions. Ms. Miller gave several sessions and a masterclass at the annual event in Colorado Springs.
- April 2022: Adjudicator, Colorado Certificate Placement Exams at Fort Lewis College, Durango, Colorado. Ms. Miller adjudicated the all-day event, which was one of four sessions hosted for hundreds of Colorado high school strings students by the Colorado chapter of the American String Teachers Association.
- May 2022: Adjudicator, Colorado Certificate Placement Exams, Boulder, Colorado.
- June 2022: Coach at Just Chamber Music, a two-week summer chamber music festival for middle and high school students at Front Range Community College.
- June 2022: Lamont Summer Academy, University of Denver. This is the seventh year Ms. Miller has been a faculty member for the two-week summer academy held annually at DU.
- July 2022: Presentation at the Colorado Chapter of the American String Teachers Association annual summer conference. For 2022, the conference was centered on the Certificate Advancement Program, which is part of the mission of the American String Teachers Association. (astastrings.org)
- Aug. 2022: Each year, Ms. Miller participates in CSU Music’s All-State instructional video series. In addition to her All-State Orchestra excerpt recording, she held an in person masterclass for interested high school students.
- With a mindset toward the future of chamber music, repertoire, and string area trends, Ms. Miller attended the American Viola Society/International Viola Society conference in June and Banff International String Quartet Competition in late Aug.
