The CSU Marching Band is looking for a videographer

We're looking for a new videographer for the CSU Marching Band! If you (or someone you know) love the band, want an important and ongoing role with the program, and are a band alum with a great eye behind the camera, you might be a good fit as our videographer!

The band seeks an individual with the ability to capture video of the band at games and other events. The videographer will have press box access for all games to record pregame and halftime performances. They will run live streams of pregame, halftime, postgame, and the RamWalk parade via Facebook. The videographer will travel free of charge with the CSUMB to away games, bowl games, and other special performances and spend game days with the band.

This is a volunteer position and will not be paid.

Requirements:

  • Must be an alum of the CSU Marching Band
  • Must be available for all CSU Marching Band major performances during upcoming seasons.
  • Must arrive at Canvas Stadium at least four hours before kick-off to set up camera equipment in the press box.
  • Prior experience operating a camcorder/semi-professional gear in various lighting situations (bright sun, stadium lights at night, cloudy day, etc.)
  • Prior experience editing raw files into consumable videos with an intro and outro.
  • The CSU Marching Band will provide camera equipment, but the videographer must have access to software that will allow them to edit video recordings.
  • Must have access to Facebook and/or YouTube on a mobile device to record livestreams.

Applicants must submit an example of any video projects they have completed. We can accept YouTube links or mp4 files in a Google Drive or Dropbox folder.
