“I remember all of these people,” says Linda Hall as she scans the Class Notes in Noteworthy, Colorado State University’s music alumni newsletter.
Linda Hall ’76 joins the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance faculty at CSU in a new position – Music Education Coordinator. Linda, who received her Bachelor’s of Music in music education from CSU in 1976, taught in the Poudre School District for 31 years before retiring in 2008. During her tenure in the Poudre School District, she served on the Music Instruction Improvement Committee and as the Middle Level Vocal Music and Honor Choir Coordinator. She has been involved in almost every music education organization in Colorado, and most notably served as the CSU and state president for the Southwestern Division of the National Association for Music Educators.
Linda’s role within the music education program will be to act as a liaison between the School of Education and the music education program in an effort to make sure that music education majors, who comprise almost half of music students, are on track with the requirements of both programs. She will also be responsible for student teaching placements.
“One of my roles as music education coordinator is to place students with teachers who will be in tune with their needs and goals,” said Linda.
As someone who has taught many students who have walked in and out of CSU’s Department of Music, Theatre and Dance, we are very happy to have Linda here to share her expertise and knowledge of music education.
