On March 27, 2017, Sir James Galway and Lady Jeanne Galway gave a master class at Colorado State University. During the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from “The Master of the Flute,” students of all ages and levels started the session with a group warm up and then listened as Sir Galway lead CSU flute students through complex passages with insight based on years of wisdom and experience.
As part of the Classical Convergence Series co-presented by CSU and the Fort Collins Lincoln Center, James Galway also performed a sold-out concert at the Lincoln Center.
More Than A Memory
For Stanley, the overall experience was incredibly memorable, including the master class that brought out Sir Galway's strengths as a teacher. "His ability to communicate with the level of each student was inspiring," she said.
Additionally, seeing the sold out crowd at the Lincoln Center enjoy the legendary performer, brought home how connected the School of Music, Theater and Dance is to the City of Fort Collins. "We have a link between us with the arts to thank," she said.
I feel as if I gained friends in the Galway’s through their visit. We still keep in touch and they had a wonderful time in Fort Collins.“
