**Reminder: Registration will close on Wednesday, October 4, at 5 p.m.**
Dear CSU Marching Band Alumni,
It amazes me how fast a year goes by. It seems like only a few weeks ago that the 2016 Alumni Marching Band celebrated our last year at Hughes Stadium. Now, we are well into the 2017-2018 school year, and inviting you to our gorgeous on-campus stadium.
For those of you whom I have not had the opportunity to meet, my name is Brandon Adams, and I am the alumni coordinator for the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance at Colorado State University. It is with great excitement that I write this follow-up invitation for you to participate in the 2017 Alumni Marching Band. I graduated from CSU in 2015, was a proud part of the CSU Marching Band for two wonderful years, and have been a huge supporter of the CSU Marching Band for as long as I can remember. It is an honor for me to be the event coordinator again this year, and I have a few things I want to highlight for you. I have included some valuable information below about parking, playing in the stands, and visiting home in general. I hope this helps!
If you have already RSVP'd for the Alumni Marching Band reunion, we are excited to have you return home! If you have not yet decided, please consider coming back to experience all that CSU has to offer. You can click the button below to register, or visit us online for additional information. I want to really encourage alumni from near and far to join us Oct. 14. I am happy to answer questions, assist with registration, or just simply catch up on what you have been up to as an alumnus or alumna of the CSU Marching Band. Please feel free to call me at (970) 491-5891 and introduce yourself!
Have a great day, and we look forward to seeing you in October!
Go Rams!
Brandon Adams
Alumni Marching Band Coordinator
Colorado State University Class of 2015
Playing in the Stands
We have good news about the layout of the new stadium. You'll love seeing the specially created CSU Marching Band section, which includes direct field access. The Alumni Marching Band will be seated in the section behind the CSU Marching Band and will get to play in the stands with the student band during the game. We are thrilled! This means that we need alumni drum majors to return to the podium and help direct the alumni! If you are interested in conducting the Alumni Marching Band in the stands, please contact Brandon Adams after you have registered. Two spots are open - one for each half - and individuals will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
Parking
For CSU football Game Day, Alumni Marching Band members will need to locate and pay for their own parking. The University Center for the Arts parking lot is available only to season ticket holders and the on-street parking in the neighborhood is available only to residents. Single-game paid parking is available on campus, and the city will be running the MAX transit system throughout the day. For more information about on-campus parking options, please visit CSU's Game Day parking website. For more information about public transportation, please visit the Fort Collins public transportation website.
Visiting Home
While you are in Fort Collins, I would highly recommend taking a campus tour. Campus has grown so much and, as a University, we are excelling in ways many have only dreamed of achieving. In the past five years alone, the Lory Student Center and Eddy Hall have been completely revitalized; the University Center for the Arts opened a beautiful art museum expansion; new academic spaces, including biology and chemistry buildings, have been constructed; an on-campus brewing sciences lab has been built; and so much more.
Then, there is our new on-campus stadium. Personally, I have been excited for this for years. It gives the Marching Band a place close to the UCA; our new Iris and Michael Smith Alumni Center is now located on site; and it has classroom space for year-round use and three floors of events space that is already completely booked for next year, making it a fantastic and heavily used venue all seven days of the week. The Alumni Association will be conducting tours throughout Homecoming weekend and, as someone who has already seen it, I can say you will not be disappointed!
Proud to Be a CSU Ram!
If you have never been a part of the Alumni Marching Band experience, it is something you do not want to miss. There is something truly special about rehearsing with fellow alumni and this year's CSU Marching Band, preparing for Game Day in a similar fashion as when we were in college, and experiencing the rush of performing on the field in front of an adoring crowd. We hope to see you there!
