I’m writing to share a bit of good news with you today. After an extensive search over the past several months, I am pleased to announce that Dr. Daniel Goble will join us this July as the director of the School of Music, Theatre and Dance.
Dr. Goble, who grew up in Casper, Wyo., has spent most of his career to date at Western Connecticut State University where he served for the past four years as the dean of the School of Visual and Performing Arts. Among his previous administrative roles at WCSU were serving as chair of the Department of Music and coordinator of jazz studies. Dr. Goble is an accomplished saxophonist who has performed with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, the New York City Ballet Orchestra, the New York City Opera Orchestra, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Denver Symphony Orchestra, and many others. Among the international venues at which he has performed are Bangkok, Thailand; Pyongyang, North Korea; Vienna, Austria; and Istanbul, Turkey. He will perform with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra this summer in Shanghai.
There will be many opportunities to meet Dr. Goble in the coming year, and I hope you will joining me in welcoming him and his wife, Patty, a Broadway actress, to Fort Collins and to the University Center for the Arts.
With warm regards,
Ann M. Gill
Dean of the College of Liberal Arts
