Hidden Gems & New Beginnings: A Clarinet & Piano Evening
During an evening of musical discovery, faculty artists Wesley Ferreira, clarinet, and Jooyeon Chang, piano, present a program of gems and powerful new works. Featuring the new Clarinet Sonata by celebrated composer Lowell Leibermann, a borrowed work, Sonata No. 1 for Violin and Piano in A minor, Op. 105 by Robert Schumann, and a newly discovered work by Ruth Shaw Wylie, a composer who spent the final 16 years of her life in Colorado. The evening concludes with a lively folk-inspired trio featuring bass clarinetist Copper Ferreira. Join us for an exceptional performance of unique works performed with passion and precision.
