Concerto Competition and Dvorak’s Symphony No. 5
Always a signature event, the University Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Wes Kenney, becomes the accompaniment for three outstanding student soloists. In addition, Antonin Dvorak is best known for his later symphonies, but his earlier works show us the blossoming artist he was becoming. His fifth symphony still has all the Bohemian charm of his more familiar works, and is another first-time performance at CSU.
“It never ceases to amaze me the level of work our students produce in solo work. What an honor to give them orchestra support as they compete!” —Wes Kenney
