Rocky Mountain Saxophone Summit

March 3, 2018 @ All Day –

The event features clinics, performances, and masterclasses by professionals and professors from along the Front Range, with guests New Third Stream Quartet featuring Rick VanMatre and James Bunte from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Jim Romain from Drake University, and Peter Sommer from Colorado State University. The all-ages event features masterclasses and a performance by students from CSU, UNC, CU, DU, MSU, and UW, as well as clinics with audience participation. Bring your instrument for the opportunity to play along! Daytime events are free and open to the public, and Tim Glessman from Sax Alley will have horns to try.

March 1, 2018 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm – Eric Sammut will be giving a recital primarily on marimba. “Eric is one of the most respected and prized musicians in the percussion field,” described Eric Hollenbeck, percussion area coordinator. Eric Sammut is principal percussionist with the Orchestre de Paris and teaches at the Royal Academy of Music in London and Glasgow.
