Songs, Games, and Teaching Strategies from a Kodály Approach: Instilling Joy Amidst Learning

Join R.O.C.K.E. and the Colorado Kodály Institute for a workshop with special guest, Dr. Georgia A. Newlin, professor of Music Education at Adelphi University on Long Island, N.Y. Having taught childhood and public school music positions for fifteen years and at the collegiate level for thirteen, Dr. Newlin currently teaches at the Summer Kodály Institute at Indiana University, University of Hawai’i Kodály Levels, Kodály Teacher Training at James Madison University, and JMU VocalArts Camp for children grades K-12. She is past president of the Organization of American Kodály Educators, and has been published in the Choral Journal, Orff Echo, Kodály Envoy, and Southwestern Musician. Georgia holds a D.M.A in Pedagogy from the Hartt School at the University of Hartford, and a M.M. in Music Education with Kodály Emphasis from Holy Names College.
