Guest Artist Concert: U.S. Army Iron Brass Quintet / FREE

CSU Music welcomes members of the 4th Infantry Division Band at Fort Carson, Colorado for a concert in the Organ Hall. These Soldiers will entertain as well as inform concert-goers about their role in the U.S. Army as musical ambassadors. The Iron Brass Quintet from the 4ID Band will perform standard repertoire plus feature Sgt. Anna Viviano on marimba playing ‘Spitfire’ by Brian Daugherty as well as a unique piece by Dr. James Barnes.

The Iron Brass quintet is the premier Brass chamber ensemble from the 4ID Band from Fort Carson, Colorado. The group performs over 100 times every year. These include military ceremonies, memorial services, educational recitals, and local public concerts in Colorado Springs and the surrounding communities. Last year the quintet performed at the University of Arizona, Arizona State University, and the University of Northern Colorado during their southwest educational outreach tour. In addition to their tour the quintet had the privilege to travel to Minnesota to perform for the presentation of three Distinguished Service Cross medals. They have also for numerous Army general officers, including the former Army Chief of Staff and current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark A. Milley.

The band was formed in 1943 and has served overseas in the 2nd World War, Vietnam, and the current War on Terror. After the concert, the performers will be available for questions.
