Voice Audition Information

Voice Application Pre-Screening Procedure

The Voice Area pre-screens voice audition applicants before inviting them to audition. Every year we are fortunate enough to have over 150 applicants for fewer than 20 available positions. Pre-screening saves you time and money and allows you to direct your efforts toward those institutions where you will have the greatest chance of success.

If you would like to be request an invitation to audition, please send a representative video of your vocal performance abilities to Dr. Tiffany Blake.

Your web-based video should include the performance of one classical piece and must be accessible by direct link (e.g., no further registration or passwords required), through domains such as YouTube or Vimeo or through any other "one click" web site.  Please attach an artistic résumé and include your personal contact information within the email that contains your link. The email must identify your name, address, phone number, email, and titles of the selection that you are performing.

Do not fret over the quality of your audition video and please do not pay to have an audition video produced. A simple unproduced video recording of your singing will suffice. A smart phone quality video is sufficient.

Receipt of your email will be acknowledged when it is received and a decision to offer you an audition will be rendered within two weeks.
Your video must be received by Feb. 15, 2016 for you to be considered for this year’s round of auditions.

If you are selected to audition in person, you will be sent a link to our online music application where you will schedule an in-person audition on one of the following dates.
