The Grass is Always Greener 

“The Grass is Always Greener” is a the title of a duet recital featuring Dana Guidroz, soprano, Emily Heilman, mezzo, members of the voice faculty at Sam Houston State University, and Christian McGee, piano. The title reflects on the deeply human experience of longing for what we don’t have. This program gives specific voice to women and the complex relationships between them, as well as the unique experiences they encounter. The pieces on this program reflect the stories we tell ourselves about the greener grass on “the other side” and invite us to consider both the beauty and the folly in imagining that happiness is always just out of reach.”
