The Legacy of Leipzig
Both J.S. Bach and Felix Mendelssohn lived in Leipzig –albeit in different centuries—and both made major musical contributions to this great German city. This program opens with the Overture to Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 3. It will be followed by his Concerto for Oboe and Violin, performed by CSU professors Pablo Hernandez and Leslie Stewart and conducted by Orchestra Graduate Teaching Assistant Rob Stahly. Professor Stewart will take the podium to conduct Mendelssohn’s String Sinfonia No. 10 to conclude the concert.
