Featuring St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Phelps Organ
This recital of organ music will be presented on the newly renovated organ of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Fort Collins. The organ of St. Luke’s was built in 1973 by Lawrence Phelps, who designed CSU’s Casavant organ in 1968. The two instruments are sisters in a way, each with their own personality. Where CSU’s organ took cues from the North German baroque, St. Luke’s organ drew inspiration from the French baroque. This program will feature works by J. S. Bach, Nicolas de Grigny, W. A. Mozart, and Franz Liszt.
