From Another World: Ethnic Clarinet

Outside of the traditional western European musical language, there is increasingly a variety of compositions for clarinet incorporating folk music. From the Middle East to the Balkans, from Central America to Asia, CSU faculty artist Wesley Ferreira performs compositions incorporating the genre. The recital features a world premiere of a work featuring Portuguese folk music elements. “Included on an upcoming album release, I’m excited to premiere this new commission from Portuguese composer Manuel Durao,” said Dr. Ferreira.
