Last year, two CSU clarinet students with the drinkable monikers DJ Caribbean Java (Asa Graf) and DJ Earl Gray (Allison Allum) started “The Coffee House” which airs on KCSU on Sundays from 9-11 a.m.

This week, the show theme is on the clarinet, and CSU Clarinet Professor Wesley Ferreira will be the in-studio guest as the DJ’s play music from Ferreira’s Madison Avenue release, his upcoming release, and discuss the important instrument.

“If you haven’t heard it yet, they are really good,” enthused Ferreira about the “The Coffee House.” I always just listen online or thru the KCSU iTune app on my phone.

The student DJ’s describe their show as being on when “the creatures are just beginning to stir. So as not to disturb the calm that has fallen upon the land, we play only the best classical, jazz, and classical-influenced music of all time periods, each on a special weekly theme to join all the pieces together in a mostly harmonious manner! We promise to get you up with a smile on your face and the suite (ha, musical pun) sounds of the masters of the musical arts in your ears.”
