DESCRIPTION:Sound\, Memory\, and Identity \n\nCSU faculty-artists Ysmael R
 eyes\, flute\, and Hyeji Seo\, piano present a recital exploring how music
 al identity is shaped through sound\, memory\, and cultural exchange. Cent
 ered on Venezuelan composers and voices\, the program brings together work
 s that illuminate different ways of hearing\, remembering\, and transformi
 ng lived experience across borders and traditions. Music by Adina Izarra\,
  René Orea\, and Raimundo Pineda draws directly from Venezuelan musical a
 nd cultural life\, reimagining familiar rhythms\, gestures\, and sonic lan
 dscapes through contemporary expression. Alongside these works\, compositi
 ons by Aaron Copland\, John Corigliano\, and Alfred Schnittke offer contra
 sting perspectives on lyricism\, color\, and form\, while reflecting the b
 lending\, transformation\, and reinterpretation of musical traditions acro
 ss twentieth century and postmodern styles.
