DESCRIPTION:Just Getting Rollin’! \n\nJoin CSU faculty artist\, Eric Holl
 enbeck\, for a concert that includes several pieces featuring the lost art
  of rolling on marimba. A trend of marimbaist avoiding rolling as a means 
 of sustain on the instrument has been revealed in most percussion pieces d
 uring the last 20 years. This program will feature several pieces that uti
 lize the roll and the instruments “pipe organ” like sound\, including 
 a rendition of “Somewhere” from West Side Story\, Yoshioka’s Suite N
 o. 3 for solo marimba. The program will also include “Scherzo” for sol
 o timpani by Tom Freer\, Marimba and pre-recorded voice by Matt Curlee and
  “Walkin’ Down Coolidge” by Joseph Tompkins.
