B is for Bassoon!
With CSU Music faculty and students
CSU faculty-artist Cayla Bellamy-Lanz presents an alphabetical tour of repertoire featuring the bassoon, including collaborations with Galit Kauntiz, oboe; Juhyun Lee, piano; Hsin-Hsuan Lin, piano; Meredith Blecha-Wells, cello; and members of Dr. Bellamy-Lanz’ undergraduate bassoon studio. The evening begins with a new transcription from Emilie Mayer’s lush Piano Trio in A minor, as featured at the 2026 International Double Reed Society global conference. The program continues with staples of the canon by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Friedrich Fasch, a quirky jazz satire by Peter Schickele, the explosive Sonatine by Alexandre Tansman, and concludes with Noelia Escalzo Robles’ spirited Che Tango!
