DESCRIPTION:A native of Kingston\, Pennsylvania\, Chris Bloom is a professi
 onal tubist and pedagogue. Chris is the principal tubist of the Baton Roug
 e Symphony Orchestra\, regularly performs with the Tallahassee Symphony\, 
 and has played with the Harrisburg Symphony\, Panama City Symphony\, and W
 estmoreland Symphony. He is a founding member of the Honseo Tuba Euphonium
  Quartet and the Capital City Brass Quintet. He has performed with the Tal
 lahassee Symphony Brass Quintet\, Panama City Symphony Brass Quintet\, and
  Nittany Valley Brass Quintet. As a soloist\, Chris has garnered success i
 n multiple competitions\, most notably earning first prize at the prestigi
 ous Leonard Falcone International Tuba &amp\; Euphonium Artist Tuba Compet
 ition\, first prize in the Midwest Regional Tuba &amp\; Euphonium Solo Art
 ist Tuba Competition\, and first prize at The International Tuba Euphonium
  Conference Arnold Jacobs Mock Orchestral Audition. Chris has presented gu
 est artist recitals at the U.S. Army Band Tuba &amp\; Euphonium Workshop\,
  the International Tuba Euphonium Conference\, and numerous universities a
 cross the United States\, including Southern Arkansas University\, Valdost
 a State University\, and Stetson University. Chris has also presented inte
 rnational masterclasses and guest residencies at the National University o
 f Costa Rica\, University of Costa Rica-Turrialba\, Escuela Municipal de M
 usica Santo Domingo\, and more. Chris holds degrees from Florida State Uni
 versity\, Carnegie Mellon University\, and The Pennsylvania State Universi
 ty. His primary teachers include Dr. Matthew Hightower\, Dr. Justin Benavi
 dez\, Craig Knox\, and Velvet Brown.
