DESCRIPTION:Somewhere \n\nSomewhere explores the universal search for belon
 ging\, as individuals\, as communities\, and as a nation imagining its fut
 ure. Elena Kats‑Chernin’s Dance of the Paper Umbrellas opens the progr
 am with a burst of color and curiosity. Bryan Wallick joins the orchestra 
 for Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5\, “Emperor.” The orc
 hestra\, directed by Dr. Rachel Waddell\, concludes the evening with Leona
 rd Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story\, a portrait of lon
 ging\, conflict\, and the enduring hope for a place\, somewhere\, where ev
 eryone can belong. In this year of Colorado’s 150th and America’s 250t
 h\, the program invites us to imagine the world we want to build together.
