DESCRIPTION:The University Symphony Orchestra\, directed by Wes Kenney\, ho
 sts the 2015-2016 Concerto Competition Finals featuring CSU’s finest sol
 oists. This year’s ‘star search’ finalists are: Landon Adams and Ben
  Justis\, percussion\, performing Avner Dorman’s Spices\, Perfumes\, Tox
 ins! (Spices)\; Paola Zamario\, violin\, performing Aram Khachaturian’s 
 Concerto for Violin (Mvt. 1)\; and Rachelle Crowell\, flute\, performing C
 hristopher Rouse’s Flute Concerto. These soloists\, chosen through audit
 ion for the annual highly competitive competition\, compete for monetary a
 wards. In addition to the solo showcase pieces\, the orchestra performs Ge
 orge Gershwin’s Catfish Row.
