DESCRIPTION:To open Organ Week Joel Bacon and Jason Moy perform an exciting
  joint recital on a battery of keyboard instruments: harpsichord\, chamber
  organ\, toy piano\, and melodica. This fascinating program will include\,
  alongside early keyboard works of the Baroque\, the world premiere of “
 Suite for Joel’s Toy Piano” by German composer Michael Grill\, and the
  U.S. premiere of a new work for melodica and live electronics by Austrian
  composer Karlheinz Essl.\n\nThe concert will take place in the studio the
 atre with special lighting and surround sound. Join us for this unique eve

 ets is through the website.\n\nHarpsichordist Jason J. Moy is the Artistic
  Director of Ars Musica Chicago\, and one of the most sought-after early k
 eyboard specialists in the Midwest. He serves on the faculties of the Chic
 ago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University\, and at DePaul Uni
 versity\, where he holds the School of Music’s first-ever endowed chair 
 as the Monsignor Kenneth J. Velo Distinguished Professor of Music. He rece
 ived his harpsichord and Early Music training at McGill University in Mont
 real\, Canada\, and counts Hank Knox\, Ketil Haugsand\, Andrew Lawrence-Ki
 ng\, and the late Bruce Haynes among his most influential mentors and teac
 hers.\n\nJason is a founding member of the award-winning period instrument
  ensemble Trio Speranza\, and principal keyboardist of the Bach Week Festi
 val Orchestra. He has performed as a soloist and continuo player throughou
 t the United States\, Canada\, and Europe\, with notable appearances at th
 e Boston Early Music Festival\, the York Early Music Festival (UK)\, and o
 n the International Music Foundation’s Dame Myra Hess and Rush Hour Conc
 ert Series in Chicago. He is a frequent guest artist with such esteemed en
 sembles as the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra\, Haymarket Opera Company\, C
 incinnati Symphony Orchestra\, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra\, Illinois Symp
 hony Orchestra\, Bella Voce\, and the South Bend Symphony Orchestra.\n\nJo
 el Bacon is the Stewart and Sheron Golden Chair of Organ and Liturgical St
 udies and the Fr. Don Willette Chair of Catholic Studies at Colorado State
  University. In 2026 he was named a University Distinguished Professor.\n\
 nAs a concert organist\, his recent performances have focused on music by 
 W. A. Mozart\, Herman Berlinski\, and Petr Eben\, as well as works for org
 an and orchestra. His teaching and research are centered on topics related
  to Catholicism and the creative arts\, especially Gregorian chant. He has
  performed throughout Europe and North America\, and his performances have
  been broadcast on Austrian Radio and Public Radio International. He has p
 layed with numerous orchestras and chamber groups\, including the Borromeo
  String Quartet and the Canadian Brass.\n\nFrom 2008 to 2020 he conducted 
 the St. John XXIII Schola Cantorum\, a choir specializing in Gregorian cha
 nt. He is currently organist and artist in residence at First United Metho
 dist Church\, Fort Collins.\n\n&nbsp\;
