SUMMARY:Music in the Museum Concert Series\, Spring #2 / FREE

he visual arts\, with concerts in the galleries. Performances by CSU Music

he Department of Art and Art History and the School of Music\, Theatre\, a
nd Dance. Registration required.\n\nThe Music in the Museum concert series
is organized in collaboration with the School of Music\, Theatre\, and Da
nce\, by Dr. Abigal Shupe\, Assistant Professor in Music Theory at CSU.\n\
 nMusicians: Michelle Stanley LaQuatra\, flute\; Barbara Thiem\, cello\nArt
  Historian: Lynn Boland\n\nMUSIC PROGRAM\nThis month’s program explores
the notion of techniques translated from one form to another\, presented i
n conjunction with the exhibition Off Kilter\, On Point: Art of the 1960s
from the Permanent Collection.\n\nMany of the visual artists in the exhibi
tion blurred the lines between traditional media\, such as painting and sc
ulpture\, or between disciplines\, presenting works that are part visual a
rt and part literature. Similarly\, the musical program for this month pre
sents an exchange between typical flute and cello repertoire: from Bach ce
llo suite on alto flute\, to cello’s piece\, by Gaspar Cassado\, includi
ng quotations from flute solos in orchestral repertoire.\n\nSuite No. 2\,

 )\n\n Prelude\n Allemande\n Courante\n Sarabande\n Menuet I &amp\; II
