DESCRIPTION:Described as a "true musical talent and professional" Eric Will
 ie has a varied career as a percussion soloist\, chamber musician\, orches
 tral player\, and teacher.\n\nHaving performed on three continents\, Eric 
 has presented solo performances throughout the United States\, Russia\, Br
 asil\, and Colombia. In the summer of 2018\, Eric performed as soloist wit
 h the Tamborimba Ensamble in Cali\, Colombia\, and conducted Edgard Varese
 ’s “Ionisation” at the III Encontro Percussivo in Recife\, Pernambuc
 o Brasil. In the United States\, Eric has performed or conducted at nine P
 ercussive Arts Society’s International Conventions (PASIC)\, presented a
 t the Midwest Clinic\, as well as several state days of percussion and mus
 ic educator conventions.\n\nAs a chamber musician\, Eric performs with the
  Nief-Norf Project and the Legal Wood Project.  As well\, as an avid promo
 ter of new music for percussion\, Eric has commissioned and/or premiered w
 orks by Christopher Adler\, Michael Burritt\, Doug Bristol\, Eric Cha-Beac
 h\, Elliott Cole\, Greg Danner\, Christopher Deane\, Paul Lansky\, Anna Me
 adors\, Marc Mellits\, Leroy Osmon\, John Psathas\, Josh Quillen\, Baljind
 er Sekhon\, Adam Silverman\, D.J. Sparr\, Jason Treuting\, Blake Tyson\, A
 lejandro Viñao\, Matt Walker\, Jamie Whitmarsh\, and James Wood.\n\nActiv
 e within the Percussive Arts Society (PAS)\, Eric previously served as Cha
 ir of the International Percussion Ensemble Committee\, President of the T
 ennessee Chapter\, as a New Literature and Recordings Reviewer for Percuss
 ive Notes journal\, and now serves as Vice President for the North Carolin
 a Chapter of the Society.\n\nIn addition to his talents as a classical per
 cussionist\, Eric is known for his marching percussion arranging and teach
 ing experience. He currently serves on staff with the Cavaliers Drum and B
 ugle Corps\, served as a Percussion Consultant with the Phantom Regiment D
 rum and Bugle Corps (2012-2013)\, and instructor and/or arranger for the S
 pirit\, Southwind\, Carolina Crown\, and the Madison Scouts drum and bugle
  corps. He has also instructed for the University of North Texas "A" Line\
 , Music City Mystique\, and as Faculty for the Music for All World Percuss
 ion Symposium.\n\nCurrently\, Eric is the newly appointed Director of Perc
 ussion Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro\, where h
 e directs a comprehensive percussion program. He directs the classical per
 cussion ensemble and steel band\, and serves as a member of the graduate f
 aculty.\n\nEric and his wife\, Rebecca (assistant concertmaster with the W
 inston-Salem Symphony)\, reside in Greensboro\, NC\, with their son Aiden\
 , daughter Elina\, and their cat Peaches.\n
