LIVESTREAM NOW ON-DEMAND: Virtuoso Series Concert — Cayla Bellamy, Bassoon

Due to current SMTD COVID-19 policies for wind playing indoors, the Virtuoso Series Concert featuring Cayla Bellamy on bassoon originally scheduled as a livestream performance on Thursday, Sept. 24 has been changed to an on-demand event only. The on-demand video will be available starting Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets to this event are available as a single ticket purchase or consider subscribing to our on-demand music series.

The sound of the bassoon is historically recognized as that of the ancient, the foolish, and often the tragic. With a new wave of music for this unique instrument, composers of diverse backgrounds are celebrating its possibilities as a painter of the contemplative, lush, resilient, and metallic. Join Cayla Bellamy, CSU’s newest addition to the woodwind faculty, as she explores a fresh collection of works for the bassoon, all written and introduced by living American composers.

Dr. Bellamy’s recital includes pre-recorded segments from her long-term recording project “New American Bassoon Sound.” Concert Program

While there are no in-person events this fall, students, family, friends, and arts patrons can access live-streamed and/or on-demand performances created by the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance. On-demand content will be hosted on our Vimeo account and access will be provided through csuartstickets.com. *Date, time, and program subject to change.
