 8:00 p.m.\n\nPulling the Heartstrings\n\nThe University Symphony Orchestra
  strings and percussion perform Gustav Mahler’s beloved Adagietto from S
 ymphony No. 5\, a work said to be a love poem to his beloved Alma. Passion
 \, love\, jealousy\, and tragedy are all part of Georges Bizet’s supreme
 ly popular opera Carmen. Russian composer Rodion Shchedrin recreates the m
 usic of Bizet in a unique and clever setting for strings and percussion. T
 he program is rounded out by a further exploration of Black composers\, Wi
 lliam Grant Still being one of the most famous.\n\nRead the program: Here\
