DESCRIPTION:Jazz Ensembles I and II\, under the direction of Peter Sommer a
 nd Wil Swindler\, are joined by the great baritone saxophonist Gary Smulya
 n for a night of burning bebop and deep swing.\n\nGary Smulyan has topped 
 the baritone saxophone category in the Downbeat Critics Poll\, the Jazztim
 es Readers and Critics Polls\, and was the winner of the 2009 and 2010 Jaz
 z Journalist Award for Baritone Saxophonist of the Year.\n\nIn addition to
  leading his own outstanding groups\, he is also the baritone saxophonist 
 for the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra\, the Dave Holland Big Band\, and the Joe 
 Lovano Nonet.
