SUMMARY:ISB Conference Special Event: Laplace Double Bass Quartet
DESCRIPTION:The Laplace Quartet is made up of a dynamic group of music stud
 ents from Colorado State University’s Double Bass Studio\, where they st
 udy with Dr. Forest Greenough. The quartet’s name is inspired by the “
 Laplace transform\,” which is a widely used integral transform in mathem
 atics and electrical engineering that transforms a function of time into a
  function of complex frequency. The members are very unique in that they a
 re all multi-disciplinary students: Senior Erik Deines is a double major i
 n double bass performance and physics\; Senior Drew Miller a double major 
 in double bass performance and electrical engineering with a minor in math
 ematics\; Senior Zachary Bush a triple major in double bass performance\, 
 composition\, and education\; and Freshman Daniel Probasco a mechanical en
 gineering major with a music minor. In addition to school duties\, the mem
 bers of the quartet are all busy music professionals—Erik is a section m
 ember of the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra\, Zachary a section member of 
 the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra\, Daniel a bassist with the Fort Collins W
 ind Symphony\, and Drew an in demand pop/rock and jazz bassist.
