Valery Kuleshov, brilliant Russian pianist and Van Cliburn Silver Medalist, was named “Honored Artist of the Russian Federation” by President Boris Yeltsin in 1997 -“prodigious technique, electrifying pianism, poetic genius,” – “a musician’s musician,” -“dazzling, insightful, magical!”

Kuleshov’s program includes Tchaikovsky’s Concert Suite from the Ballet “The Nutcracker”, Op. 71 (Arranged by Mikhail Pletnev); Prokofiev’s 8 Pieces from the Ballet “Romeo and Juliet”, Op. 75; and Tchaikovsky’s Concert Suite from the Ballet “The Sleeping Beauty”, Op. 66 (Arranged by Mikhail Pletnev).

The international superstar and Van Cliburn Gold Medalist, Olga Kern, delivers a brilliant closing concert. Now recognized as one of her generation’s great pianists, Olga Kern was born into a family of musicians with direct links to Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov. Possessing a vast solo and concerto repertoire, Kern’s jet-setter career has her performing frequently with the leading orchestras of Europe and the U.S., and in all the major concert halls around the world.
