Valery Kuleshov, brilliant Russian pianist and Van Cliburn Silver Medalist, was named “Honored Artist of the Russian Federation” by President Boris Yeltsin in 1997 -“prodigious technique, electrifying pianism, poetic genius,” – “a musician’s musician,” -“dazzling, insightful, magical!”
Kuleshov’s program includes Tchaikovsky’s Concert Suite from the Ballet “The Nutcracker”, Op. 71 (Arranged by Mikhail Pletnev); Prokofiev’s 8 Pieces from the Ballet “Romeo and Juliet”, Op. 75; and Tchaikovsky’s Concert Suite from the Ballet “The Sleeping Beauty”, Op. 66 (Arranged by Mikhail Pletnev).

Spanish Pianists Eduardo Ponce and Sophia Hase perform the world premiere of Tomás Marco’s new work “Como LLuvia Ligera” and the Visions de l’Amen of Olivier Messiaen.
Gold Medal Winner’s Concert

(Originally scheduled as a concert by Vladislav Kern, however, Vladik & Olga Kern were called to the Kremlin to perform on July 26, and as a result, Vladik’s concert on July 27 will be replaced by the Odyssiad Gold Medal Winner’s Recital. Vladik & Olga will perform together in concert on Thursday, July 28. Any requests for ticket reimbursements will be honored.)

The international superstar and Van Cliburn Gold Medalist, Olga Kern, delivers a brilliant closing concert. Now recognized as one of her generation’s great pianists, Olga Kern was born into a family of musicians with direct links to Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov. Possessing a vast solo and concerto repertoire, Kern’s jet-setter career has her performing frequently with the leading orchestras of Europe and the U.S., and in all the major concert halls around the world.
