DESCRIPTION:Sympatico Percussion Group (Scott Herring\, Joseph Krygier\, Jo
 hnny Mendoza\, Christopher Norton\, Susan Powell) create programs with ent
 ertainment and intrigue\, virtuosity and poignancy\, and appealing melodie
 s and vibrant rhythms from around the world. Their diverse and eclectic re
 pertoire includes rudimental drumming\, ragtime xylophone\, pop transcript
 ions and wonderfully uncategorized original compositions that embrace glob
 al streams of contemporary musical styles. Enthusiastic audiences exclaim 
 that Sympatico concerts are “beyond imagination…absolutely engaging!
 ”\n\nAs Sympatico\, they have performed at several Percussive Arts Socie
 ty events and for university\, community\, and festival concert series. Co
 llectively\, their collegiate teaching experience exceeds seventy-five yea
 rs with appointments at The Ohio State University (Powell\, Krygier)\, Uni
 versity of South Carolina (Herring)\, Belmont University (Norton) and McMu
 rry University (Mendoza). All members are also active chamber and orchestr
 al musicians\, performing throughout North America and abroad.\n\nThey are
  giving a concert of percussion works written for them and by them.
