  for a 40-minute recital\, followed by a masterclass with CSU trombone qua
 rtet students\, plus a Q&amp\;A session about military band careers.\n\nTr
 ombones of the United States Air Force Academy Band\n\nThe United States A
 ir Force Academy Band is one of two Premier Bands in the United States Air
  Force and performs on behalf of the cadets of the United States Air Force
  Academy in Colorado Springs and USAFA Superintendent LtGen Tony Bauernfei
 nd. These professional musicians perform with such varied groups as the Co
 ncert Band\, Falconaires Big Band\, Stellar Brass Quintet\, Falcon Brass Q
 uartet\, Pegasus Pop Band\, and Ceremonial Marching Band. With nearly 500 
 performances per year\, the United States Air Force Academy Band aims to H
 onor our past\, Inspire the future\, and Connect with audiences across the
  nation and the world\, utilizing the power of music to accomplish the mis

 ss trombone\n\nTechnical Sergeant Evan Silloway joined the United States A
 ir Force Academy Band\, Peterson Space Force Base\, Colorado\, in 2023. He
  currently performs as bass trombonist with the Falconaires\, Concert Band
 \, Ceremonial Band\, and Falcon Brass.\n\nPrior to joining the Air Force\,
  TSgt Silloway attended the Eastman School of Music as a DMA student in Ba
 ss Trombone Performance and Literature. He also holds degrees from the Uni
 versity of Utah (MM\, Bass Trombone Performance) and the University of Nor
 thern Colorado (BME\, K-12 Instrumental Music Education). His primary teac
 hers include Larry Zalkind (Eastman School of Music)\, Dr. Donn Schaefer (
 University of Utah)\, Mark Davidson (Utah Symphony)\, Dr. Nat Wickham (Uni
 versity of Northern Colorado)\, and MSgt (ret.) Scott Crump (USAF Academy 
 Band).\n\nOver his career\, TSgt Silloway has performed with numerous grou
 ps including the Chautauqua Symphony\, Rochester Philharmonic\, Syracuse O
 rchestra\, Des Moines Metro Opera\, Utah Symphony\, Colorado Springs Philh
 armonic\, Colorado Jazz Orchestra\, and Greeley Philharmonic. He won the B
 ass Trombone Solo Competition and the Trombone Quartet Competition for the
  2021 American Trombone Workshop and was a finalist for the International 
 Trombone Association’s Yaxley Bass Trombone Competition and the bass tro
 mbone solo competition at the Southeast Trombone Symposium in 2019. His wr
 iting appears in the Journal of the International Trombone Association and
  he performed research for Doug Yeo’s An Illustrated Dictionary for the 
 Modern Trombone Player\, uncovering early instances of solo trombone perfo
 rmance at the Eastman School of Music.\n\nTSgt Silloway highly values musi
 c education and regularly coaches cadets in musical activities at USAFA as
  well as local high school students in concert band\, jazz band\, and marc
 hing band. He has served as the Applied Instructor of Trombone at the Setn
 or School of Music of Syracuse University\, Director of Bands at Woodland 
 Park Middle School\, CO\, and Teaching Assistant with the Athletic Bands d
 epartment of the University of Utah and the trombone studios and Trombone 
 Choir at the Eastman School of Music. TSgt Silloway is an alumnus of the B
 lue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps of Denver\, CO. He is originally from Col
 orado Springs\, CO and enjoys skiing\, mountain biking\, sailing\, and pub
  trivia with his wife.
