DESCRIPTION:Regina Helcher Yost is nationally renowned as an orchestral and
  chamber music musician and an acclaimed flute and piccolo pedagogy teache
 r. She is the second flute/piccolo of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra an
 d the Assistant Principal Flute/Piccolo of the Colorado Music Festival in 
 Boulder\, Colorado. Dr. Helcher Yost is a faculty member at Charleston Sou
 thern University and core flutist for Chamber Music Charleston.\n\nDr. Hel
 cher Yost began her professional orchestral career as associate principal 
 flute/piccolo of the Honolulu Symphony\, second flute/piccolo of the Knoxv
 ille Symphony\, and later a core member of the Charleston Symphony Orchest
 ra. In 1999-2000\, She unanimously won a position as acting second flute o
 f the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.\n\nDr. Helcher Yost received her Bache
 lor of Music in Flute Performance from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory
  of Music\, was an associate instructor of flute while pursuing a Master o
 f Music degree at Indiana University\, and was a flutist in the National O
 rchestra of New York (a national training orchestra that studied with worl
 d-famous musicians and conductors and performed a six-concert series in Ca
 rnegie Hall). She has a Master of Music Education from the University of F
 lorida\, and a Doctor of Music Education from Liberty University. Her flut
 e/piccolo teachers include Geoffrey Gilbert\, James Pellerite\, Julius Bak
 er\, Thomas Robertello\, Carl Hall\, Jack Wellbaum\, and Kyril Magg\, amon
 g many others.\n\nDr. Helcher Yost resides in Charleston\, South Carolina\
 , where she lives with her husband Jeffrey\, and their pug dog Satchmo. Sh
 e enjoys hiking 14\,000 feet mountains\, running half marathons\, professi
 onal cake decorating\, and attending as many live opera performances as po
 ssible.
