Mindy Kaufman joined the New York Philharmonic as flute and solo piccolo in 1979 after receiving a B.M. from the Eastman School of Music where she studied with James Galway. Ms. Kaufman gives masterclasses around the world, and has taught at Columbia University, Mannes Prep, and Juilliard Pre-College. She’s recorded with the Metropolis Ensemble, New York Philharmonic, and released a solo CD of French flute music. Kaufman has performed at the National Flute Convention, Japan Flute Convention, and the New York Flute Club and can be heard on dozens of film soundtracks, including The Cotton Club, The Untouchables, Aladdin, Julie & Julia, and Moonrise Kingdom.
