DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED\n\nJoin us for a concert of conte
 mporary works for percussion. Michael Compitello is a dynamic\, “fast ri
 sing” (WQXR) percussionist dedicated to commissioning and premiering new
  works that explore the sonic and expressive possibilities of percussion i
 nstruments. His project\, Unsnared Drum (New Focus Recordings\, 2021) seek
 s to reinvent the snare drum with “superb performances.”  \n\nWith c
 ellist Hannah Collins as the “remarkably inventive and resourceful” (G
 ramophone) New Morse Code\, Michael has created a singular and personal re
 pertoire through collaboration with some of America’s most esteemed youn
 g composers.\n\nMichael Compitello is associate professor of percussion at
  Arizona State University. He holds degrees from Yale School of Music and 
 the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University.
