DESCRIPTION:Unaccompanied Music for Saxophone \n\nJoseph Murphy was a saxo
 phone professor at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania from 1987-2022\, w
 here he was also director of bands and department chair. He received a Bac
 helor of Music Education from Bowling Green State University and a master'
 s and doctorate from Northwestern University. In 1985\, he was a Fulbright
  scholar in Bordeaux\, France\, where he received a Premier Prix. Since Mu
 rphy’s positively reviewed (New York Times) Lincoln Center debut recital
 \, he has performed across the U.S.\, in 25 countries on six continents\, 
 at eleven World Saxophone Congresses\, and is a member of Duo Montagnard w
 ith guitarist Matthew Slotkin. Murphy has premiered more than 100 new work
 s\, is a clinician for the Selmer Corporation and Rico Corporation\, and h
 as ten recordings. Murphy’s memberships include the Music Educators Nati
 onal Conference\, Music Teachers National Association\, North American Sax
 ophone Alliance\, National Association of College Wind &amp\; Percussion I
 nstructors\, Phi Mu Alpha\, and Kappa Kappa Psi.
