SUMMARY:Guest Artist Concert: John Sipher\, Trombone / FREE
DESCRIPTION:The CSU Trombone Studio is excited to host guest artist John Si
 pher\, principal trombonist of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Sipher
  is a world-class trombone performer and teacher and will be working with 
 CSU trombone students in a masterclass setting\, followed by a guest artis
 t recital.\n\nPrior to his current position as the principal trombonist of
  the Colorado Symphony since 2015\, he has held principal trombone positio
 ns with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra\, the Virginia Symphony Orchestra\
 , the Richmond Symphony Orchestra\, and was a fellow at the New World Symp
 hony.\n\nA native of Roanoke\, Virginia\, he received his bachelor’s deg
 ree in Music Education with a minor in Jazz Studies from James Madison Uni
 versity and his Master of Music in trombone performance from Yale Universi
 ty. In addition to his orchestral appointments\, he has performed with the
  Los Angeles Philharmonic\, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra\, the Baltimore
  Symphony Orchestra\, the Utah Symphony Orchestra\, the Saint Paul Chamber
  Orchestra\, the Rochester Philharmonic\, and the Grand Teton Music Festiv
 al Orchestra.\n\nAs an educator\, John has served as a trombone instructor
  at Hamilton College and the University of Northern Colorado and has prese
 nted masterclasses and recitals across the country. John is an active cont
 ributor of music to the trombone repertoire\, composing and arranging musi
 c primarily for trombone ensembles and for trombone and loop pedal. When n
 ot playing trombone\, John enjoys the majesty of the Colorado outdoors\, t
 he yeasty warmth of sourdough bread\, the sound of a camera shutter\, and
